Mr. Nagenda Who is the Leech? Check your facts. authored by David on 12. July 2009 at 19:40
This is in response to Mr. John Nagenda's column of the 10th July 2009 '
Wacko Jacko and Peter Pan'. Mr. Nagenda knows how to write and "impress" the readers with his fiction and in that I applaud him. But just a word of advice to him,"Please check your facts first before you write, or, inform the readers that it is fiction" First of all the day Jackson passed I was watching a program on TV while talking to someone back home in Uganda and it happened that that person was watching CNN news and it happened so that the breaking news was at the same moment so I wonder which part of Uganda Mr. Nagenda refers to when he says that,'I phoned home to Uganda, where the news had not yet broken....'? The other part of his fiction is about the leeches he writes about, 'He had signed on for 50 (fifty!) concerts, each of them of detailed perfection, in the coming months, mostly to pay off his immense debts. This was an impossible obscenity: the usual leeches waiting in the wings for their litre of blood' Mr. Nagenda Jackson did not exploit anyone or force anyone to pay for those shows at least he had something he was going to offer these people in return for their money. Instead of talking ill of this legal money making why don't you talk about the way you used to make money as the Presidential press secretary and how you used to exploit the people of Uganda. In truth between you and Jackson try to define who the real leech is and I think instead of writing about issues you do not know very much about why don't you write about your history? I am sure many of us would be captivated with such stories if at all you would write about facts and not your fiction again. Advice from Jackson, the one you want to make into a monster, Look at the man in the mirror.... And lastly about his immerse debt, to you it is immerse, 500 million or so.., Have you made some research into his assets to ascertain whether he would offset his debt or not? Well to help you a little, 1. 'Jackson had other assets, including rights to many of his own songs, as well as about 1,000 hours of rehearsal footage leading up to this summer's London concert tour and possibly about 100 unreleased songs. But none of those assets are likely to be nearly as valuable as his stake in Sony/ATV, which has been valued at anywhere from $390 million to $1 billion. (www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1908185,00.html) 2.An AOL music website report suggested earlier this year that Jackson had plans to leave McCartney the long-contested rights to 200 songs of the Fab Four's iconic repertoire, valued at about 500 million dollars. So Please get your facts before you write about what you do not know.

Make that change authored by Catherine .A. on 11. July 2009 at 18:56
Michael Jackson made his own mistakes, every human dose. He probably lived in hell on earth, if he had the power he would take his misery away. Lets not criticise him for that. He did the skin change and that bit with the children but,all that dose not linger in people's minds like his music. My favourite MJ song, i love all his songs each of them has got a different meaning, but the one am singing right this minute is "man in the mirror" he urges everyone to try and make a change on earth from something bad to good, how ever small it may be. Michael Jackson deserves to be remembered for if tried as hard to make a change. Rest in peace Michael.

Thank you Lola and David authored by Godfrey Bagonza on 11. July 2009 at 15:13
I was greatly sadened when I learnt of the passing on of Michael Jackson at just 50 years of age. He played a very memorable part in my teens and I am glad I lived in his time.

Not that I was unaware of what his life was like, this is to say thank you to Lola and David who have helped shape my understanding and perception about M.J.s life. I’d never stopped to look at it that way. I only looked at the end product which I didn’t like at all!!

One lesson for me in all of it is I am now able to look at circumstances to help me understand situations and be the last to throw sly statements. If I were in his shoes, amidst those circumstances; a constant verbal reminder from a parent of how ugly I was, a super star, acne all over my face, and all this from age 5 to all the way into my teens and thru my teens and to crown it all with the money to ‘fix’ all of this; Yes I would...and yes I would have regretted my decisions decades later - maybe - but I know I would have done something about it!!

He’s been called weird, but aren’t we all? It’s just a matter of degree and given the right circumstances with the right trigger, anyone could become a weirdo!

God rest his soul in eternal peace and console and strengthen his family especially little Paris!

mj R.I.P authored by lubega godfrey on 11. July 2009 at 15:03
Guys, lets look at what he(mj) did for us, he showed the world that a blackman can do something invincible am sure most of us agree that he was good if not the best artist ever lived. we all have reasons for whatever we do and every story has 2 sides, we waste a lot of time guessing what must have been. Jackson said in a documentary with oprah winfrey that he had a skin condition, why is it heard for us to believe? A lot of people are starving in the world but one billionaire decided to go to the moon for three days and it cost him over 2 billion dollars, now thats what he wanted to do. We don't need to cricify the geezer any more, HE IS DEAD. For sure you only live once and i think we should live in a free world.

What is not meant as we honor MJ as the king of pop? authored by bernard on 11. July 2009 at 04:27
So many think being white or light-skin or having a thin nose is the most important in life and is the only beauty per excellence. You will one day end up being one of the most devasted person ever. Yet for many, they really stinck and never to their their appetite and know what, many meaning whites end up going for the blacks, ask why from deep within your heart. Please, don't be misled or mislead others into something no one would never ever have wanted at the end if they had been given the second chance to review their decisions. So if it is about beauty for sex and betraying your original identity, please don't go for it, or never ever even buy the idea.
If the reason to do it is beyond sex and betraying your own important identity as blacks then i see no reason for going a head. Otherwise as they you would always get the side effects for what you thought would help you but failed you in the long term. You can never be sure 100%. You and I, bet.

For MJ his Music got many interested in him but not his plastic surgery nor his being mixed up with his sexuality -fathered children but didn't make love (having sexual intercourse to have these kids) with the women who carried and delivered them. I think we are not refering to that as we honor him as the king of the pop. Some are so much mistaken and actually misled as we honor king of pop. All I can say is that some of the decisions he made were not really the best of the best in his life. We agree we make mistakes. Don't believe too much in science at the expense of all these many other important integrated resources about what life is all about.

May he rest in peace.

Kiggundu be informed and civilized authored by Sophie on 11. July 2009 at 01:09

Hailing the 'king';throwing away the morals. authored by k. stephen on 10. July 2009 at 17:23
Yeah am impressed by David's hullabaloo on trying to save MJ's image but why shuold we protect pedophiles. Save us the talk of many people going in for plastic surgery because that doesn't make it right, it is just utter lack of self esteem, do you know how many people suffer from vitiligo and are not in a rush to under go that sort of scarification. Performing arts don't know any boundaries so they could have had .him accepted by his fans who were ready to do so. Micheal knew it that with all the skeletons in his closet he coulnd't resuscitate his carrier that is why he couldn't sleep with out intoxicating himself with xanax. people like Nancy pelossi know this that is why they are in hurry to say hail to the king.

Highly exalted but grossly unknown and misunderstood. authored by David on 9. July 2009 at 18:46
Michael Jackson (RIP) was the most successful musician of our times, but despite all that, instead of being happy and comfortable, he was the most lonely and misunderstood being. People allege loving him and knowing him but no one knew the real MJ and that is why even in death people continue to talk badly about him and the media continues to spew misconceptions about him. Yeah, he was weird, maybe, but who wouldn't be after being denied childhood due to exploitation? People talk about his changing his appearance, yeah for the nose job; he tried to make it small but then it was not his fault. It was just plastic surgery gone bad. But many people do it nowadays and they do not get the problems he got. Uninformed people go about his trying to change into a white man. This was not his intention he was forced by nature to do so. He was unfortunate to suffer from a skin disorder called VITILIGO; Vitiligo[p] is a relatively common chronic disorder that causes depigmentation in patches of skin. It occurs when the melanocytes, the cells responsible for skin pigmentation which are derived from the neural crest, die or are unable to function. Hence the appearance of patches on the skin. (In Buganda they used to say about the people with this disorder that they were burnt by twins ) MJ just thought that he would rectify the situation by lightening the dark patches so that he had only one colour on his skin. Who wouldn't? faced with the situation he was and thinking that he had the money to straighten his flaw. Instead of condemning the poor soul with all the trash talking we would be better off with at least accepting what he was the best ever in the scene of pop music and artistry he manifested through his music, dance and creativity. Long live Michael Jackson in your music you truly was the King of pop.

Yes, he changed the world, king of pop rip authored by bernard on 9. July 2009 at 16:35
All of his music is so moving and so wonderful. He changed the world and was so nice looking. He was such a wonderful person -I hope to be exactly like him -holy One, help me.

I thought there was quite something here to learn from even from his own mistakes -mistakes which we all have.

MJ RIP you are so missed by all.

Ambigious wacko jacko authored by k. stephen on 9. July 2009 at 11:46
Everyone is praising MJ for the meastro that he was but that is the kind of intrigue and hypocrisy that is embedded in the nature of how human we are! Forexaple many could argue that Micheal played a major role in upsetting such abhorrable acts and a system designed to sideline Afro-americans during his rookie years but what if he gave those masterminding the prejudice-campaign an impression that they didn't have to try so hard given that he went on to have his face 'purified' to what he thought was a more marketable hue. Then he went on to surprise every one by stashing away 'our' nose for a rickety barrel that catalysed his eventual demise. Not that i don't like Micheal( christ! that moon walk was such of sublime beuaty) but he almost undid what the Jesse Jacksons had fought so hard for! Hey jackson no hard feelings just thuoght we should own up.
