1. Kanungu District Local Government has received FUNDS for the District Rural Water Supply and
sanitation Development Conditional Grant and intends to use part of the funds for the construction of
KAYUNGWE Water Supply in KANUNGU District.

2. KANUNGU District Local Government now invites sealed bids from competent fi rms, companies or individuals to undertake the following listed water/
civil works:
The works involved include: 0.8km of transmission pipeline, 4.95km of Distribution and service lines,
Construction of 40m3 reinforced concrete reservoir, 0.04km collection pipeline, construction of 1.5m3
sedimentation tanks, construction of 10 pubic stand taps and construction of institutional and private connections.
Bidding for the above items will be conducted using the open domestic bidding method contained in the
Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Asses Act 2003 of the Republic of Uganda. Interested bidders
may inspect the bid document and obtain more information from the Procurement and Disposal Unit during
working days of the week from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
A complete set of bid documents in English may be obtained by interest bidders upon payment of a non
refundable fee of 100,000/= (One hundred thousand shillings) only to

3. The bid document will be hand picked from the Procurement and Disposal Unit Offi ce on presentation of a General Receipt obtained from the District
Cashier.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Ushs 2,000,000/= in the form of a certifi ed cheque or bank draft, addressed to Kanungu District Local
Government.

4. Sealed bids of four (4) copies (one original and three copies) clearly marked and addressed to:
Head of Procurement and Disposal Unit, Kanungu District Local Government, P .O. Box 01, Kanungu and delivered/submitted to the Procurement and Disposal Unit not later than 25th March 2010 at 10:00am. Bids shall then be opened the same day (25th March 2010 at 10.00am) in the presence of
bidders or their representatives who may choose to attend. No. liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.
5. Kanungu District Local Government reserves the right to accept or reject any bids or all bids and Kanungu
District Local Government is not necessarily bound to award the contract to the lowest bidder.

6. A pre-bidding conference shall be held on 15th March 2010 at 10:00am at the Procurement and Disposal Unit Offi ces and a site visit thereafter
conducted.
