THE Police in Kabarole have arrested two men who allegedly shot dead a businesswoman in Fort Portal municipality.

Business came to standstill on Tuesday when the Police fired in the air as they struggled to arrest Jack Mande and Minusi Magazi, both residents of Futi-Butanga in Karambi sub-county.

Margaret Mbabazi, a resident of Butebe in Fort Portal, was recently shot dead at a trading centre.

Her killers also stole an unspecified amount of money, television set, clothes and a DVD player.

The western region Police spokesperson, Elly Matte, said the suspects were found with an AK 47 rifle, an army uniform, 14 bullets and property belonging to the deceased.

The thugs also had a polythene bag filled with opium, padlocks, smoking pipes commonly known as emindi and other witchcraft-related items.
