Mubende district NRM party election results have been cancelled. Local leaders and security agencies have resolved to hold fresh elections on Saturday.

This was during a meeting at the office of the resident district commissioner, Stephen Nsubuga Bewaayo yesterday. On Monday, elections were held in only four out of the 19 sub-counties.

These are Mubende town council, Makokoto, Kiyuni and Butoloogo. Other sub-counties did not hold elections due to delay in the delivery of election materials. Shortly before the results were cancelled, party electoral officials had declared Kizito Zziwa the winner of the Mubende town council LC3 chairperson seat. Jesero Mugume came second.
