PRESIDENT Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has congratulated Muslims in Uganda upon the completion of the holy month of Ramadhan, and them a happy Eid-El-Fitrir. The day will be marked tomorrow.
In a public message Museveni said: “The holy month of Ramadhan is a special period of abstinence, which puts believers’ discipline and piety to a severe test. It is a time of prayer and self-examination, for sharing good fortune and it is a period of spiritual cleansing that moves Muslims closer to Allah.
In accordance with the Holy Qur’an, Islam is both a faith and a comprehensive way of life, which guides believers’ actions and relations with others. It teaches faith in Allah, love, generosity, compassion and peace.”
Museveni prayed that, “Allah gives all Ugandan Muslims good health, wisdom and guidance to live in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an, and be rewarded abundantly for their honest hard work.”
