CAA needs consultants ENTEBBE-The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) seeks consultants to evaluate and grade employees. Speaking to The New Vision, Jackie Kiyingi, a public affairs officer at CAA, said the exercise shall cover all the 784 employees of the authority. She said there was no specific period scheduled for grading. “We only carry out this exercise whenever the need arises. For example, we had it four years back.” Kiyingi said the exercise was aimed at improving service delivery.
City roads to be improved KIRA TOWN-Kira Town council is to hire two companies to collect building plans fees. “We lack enough staff to carry out such tasks. We also want to partners with the private sector to ensure efficiency in monitoring all the construction projects in the area,” Godfrey Muwanga, the head of finance, said. He said the successful companies shall must have technical capacity to ensure that structures in the area met the council’s building guidelines. Muwanga noted there were many structures built without approved plans, adding that this was likely to affect future development. “This is common in virgin areas like Kira, Namugongo and Kirinya,” he said.
