LEAGUE Champions KCC FC strolled into their new office as ‘table leaders’ of the Uganda Super League after edging Mbarara 1-0 at the expense of Simba, who could only settle for a 1-1 draw at home to lowly Iganga.

Uganda’s 2008 footballer of the year Brian Umony headed home Ronald Kamoga’s perfectly-weighed cross, in precise fashion, on 44 minutes to sustain KCC’s title defense.

Club boss George Nsimbe later labeled the result ‘a championship winning result’ on an afternoon SC Villa preserved its title chase with a convincing 3-1 win over Bugerere.

Ausi Kaaya silenced Villa faithful in the early stages before Emmanuel Okwi, Godfrey Walusimbi and forced Livingstone Kawuma’s own goal helped Villa to glory.

At Wankulukuku, Daniel Sserunkuuma defied the odds to help Express FC to a priceless 1-0 win over URA FC.
