THE Uganda Bureau of Statistics has embarked on a countrywide census of all business enterprises in Uganda.

Imelda Atai Musana of UBOS said this is a complete enumeration of all operating economic units with a fixed location. The last such census was carried out in 2001.

“We want to obtain listing of all economic activities undertaken in the country. The data will help determine the number, type and level of economic activity in the country and corresponding number of employees by sector as well as district,” explained Atai.

She said the information shall remain strictly confidential to UBOS.
