We asked our readers what they had to say...

JEREMIAH started wearing shoes at two months. His mother, Lucy Ungyera, says his first pair was booties with cotton cloth just enough to fit his little feet. At three months, she bought him shoes with a rubber sole and would wear them on immunization days and church.

Jacquline Aliyo longed to see her four-month-old Aaron in shoes. When he turned three months, she got him soft shoes stuffed with cotton and a rubber sole. At first, the shoes would fall off because his feet were small and he was not familiar with them, but later he got used to them.

Julia Okot says her son was a month old when he wore his first pair of shoes. However, he only wore them whenever we were going out. At home, he wore socks for warmth and protection from dirt and minor injuries. When he turned nine months, he wore shoes with laces and a rubber sole to prevent him from slipping.
