ROSIE Katumwa is the assistant managing director of Katumwa Sports Centre and wife to business man, David Katumwa. She is a gaudy shopper who does most of her shopping abroad.
She bought the Melon dress she is wearing at $200 (about sh400,000) from Hong Kong but such Melon dresses are available in upmarket shops at sh85,000 and in Owino at sh35,000.
Her New Look shoe cost her $160 (about sh320,000) from the US but similar shoes are available for sh52,000 in boutiques around town.
“My husband paid $140 (about sh280,000) for my gold earrings and necklace when we were in the UK on my birthday,” Katumwa says.
But such a necklace and earrings are available for about sh65,000 from uptown jewellery shops. Her Pencil Puff hairstyle was done for sh70,000 and nails for sh40,000 at Tropical Complex.
In most down town salons, a hair style like that costs only sh26,000 and nails like Katumwa’s can be done for as low as sh5,000.
Although Rosie Katumwa splashed over sh1,110,000 on her gorgeous look, one needs to spend only sh233,000 which is sh877,000 less, to look as good as Katumwa.
