Grace Nakimera is a local artiste and won a PAM Award in 2008. DORAH NAAMALA had a chat with her about her love life

Are you dating anyone?
Yes, I am engaged to Andre Ringen, a handsome young Norwegian.

In fact, we have a six-year-old daughter called Maira.

How did you meet?
Ringen is a photographer with the African Woman magazine.

When I was a model, I went for a photo shoot at his workplace. After the shoot, we exchanged contacts and before we knew it, we were an item.

What was your first date like?
He took me to a French restaurant and showed up with a bouquet of flowers.

How about the proposal?
He is such a simple guy.

He took me to out for dinner. After dinner, he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I accepted. He then slid a diamond ring on my finger.

We rarely see you with him; how often do you hang out?
He hates publicity and noisy places. Once in a while, we go for movies.

Isn’t he worried about your late working hours?

My man is so supportive and always understands. He is such a patient and down-to-earth guy.

What kind of wedding are you planning?
A simple one with between 20 and 50 guests.

Can you compare a Ugandan and a Norwegian lover?

You’re asking very personal questions. What matters is the love you feel, regardless of the race.
