Foods to avoid while pregnant
Expecting and not sure what foods can harm your baby? Below are examples of some of the foods you must stay away from.
Chilled, pre-cooked fish or chicken, unless re-heated and eaten hot.

Raw, stored or chilled vegetable salads from supermarkets. If you must eat these, do so immediately after cooking.

If you are worried that you may have eaten pre-cooked food without freezing or boiling it, contact your doctor to treat food poisoning, in case you have got it.

Fortunately, severe food poisoning through eating leftover food is rare; about 1 in 500 pregnant women get it. Once you have suffered food poisoning, your body becomes immune to it. Food poisoning can be diagnosed with blood tests. Antibiotics are prescribed to treat it.
