CAMPUS is such a big dream for many people, who look up to the day when they will join university. This usually symbolises the end of their academic journey.

However, for some people, it is not just any university that will do because each university has a statement to pass about them. Most of my buddies judge character and status according to the university one goes to.

Makerere
My grannies in the village know that this university is the epitome of academic excellence. They have even turned Makerere into a metonymy for every university.

Studying in Makerere definitely indicates that you are bright. The conditions at this varsity are best suited for a pure Ugandan.

If one must get used to chaos, be able to squeeze through a crowd and get to the front, que in the blistering afternoon sun for an identity card without fainting, then you are at home. Makerere is the best place to learn perseverance.

Kyambogo,/b>
If you are doing sciences at this university, you are probably a genius. However, most students who end up here are running away from the ruckus of Makerere. You are also probably focused, organised humble and down-to-earth. See, there is nothing pompous about students in this university.

Islamic university
Most people dread this university because it is stricter than a secondary school. Can you imagine being suspended or expelled from a university? Still, there are students who die for IUIU.

Therefore, what does that say about them? They are probably strict Muslims, principled and focused students. It could also be that their parents are extremely strict because most of them get dragged there.

Nkozi and UCU
A friend of mine boasted of having a boyfriend in Nkozi University. When we asked her what the big deal was, she said her guy was rich. We all know these varsities are expensive.

Joining them means you are loaded. I heard people talking about meals from Nkozi and how they are better than the famous kikumi kikumi (makeshift) restaurants in the outskirts of Makerere University.

Abroad
Many students dream of studying abroad. To them, the ranking of any university does not matter. Even if it was number 5,000 after a Ugandan university, they would not be moved. What does this say about them? They are probably wannabees (show-offs).
