Sinagpore’s development should serve as the proforma for third world development and it is gratifying that the story has got in the press in the way of Peter Mulira’s commentary in today’s New Vision.

In his book “From Third World to First: The Singapore Story: 1965-2000″ former Singaporean Premier Lee Kuan Yew outlines the thought and planning processes that help elevate Singapore from third world standards to being the country with the fourth highest per capita GDP in 40 years.

Singapore, lacking in natural resources, had only its human resource — which did not have much quality at the beginning of the story and strategic geogrphic location, leveraging both to the hilt to drive his country’s economy.

This should be on the bed stands of all thrid world leaders with a sincere desire to transform their nations.
